#TRAVELTUESDAYTIP: PACKING FOR VACATION

WHAT WOULD APRIL WEAR

From the book, “Are You Going To Wear That?!” 365 Days of Style Tips

Style Tip #136

Packing Tip: Pack three shirts for every bottom when traveling for a week.

It’s a sad truth but women over pack by about two-thirds.   Remember that 20%  of what you pack will account for 80% of what you wear.  The formula for packing is always tedious.  However if you start with this formula you have a good chance of not over packing.  Remember to pack items that you must have for your trip and not “just in case” items.  Be sure to pack your lightest and most versatile shoes.  If you need to bring bulky shoes wear them and pack the lighter shoes.  Two pairs of shoes should suffice for a one week trip.

Other formulas:

  • Four Tops and Four Bottoms should yield sixteen outfits. Pack items not outfits.
  • For two weeks pack five bottoms, three shirts for every bottom and for every dress you can eliminate a shirt and bottom.
