The great thing about DIY, it that if I see it I can make it! I was inspired by DIANE VON FURSTENBURG’S LOVE BOOTIE AND A PAIR OF POM POM BOOTIES FROM NASTY GAL CALLED The Privileged Frill Pom Pom Bootie. Guess what, BOTH are sold out! So what’s a girl to do?
First, I found a pair of booties that I rarely wore to be my shoe of choice. Next, I went to Michael’s and found cute sticky glitter heart foam appliqués and pink and purple pom poms. I used professional grade multi purpose glue (please do in a well ventilated area). Now it’s the fun part! SPRAY PAINT! I decided to paint the boots pink so that the black wouldn’t make it looks sparse. However, It might have worked. I wanted to leave the heel black and I wanted to make sure the inside and soles did not get paint on them. The idea is not for them to look like a craft project so I tried to keep the paint contained. Once the paint was dry I began to place the heart and pom poms on the shoe. PLEASE remember to do this in a well ventilated area! I took the pom poms and and only added them on the side. As for the hearts, I didn’t want to be too cartoon with their placements so I left a good amount of shoe to peek through.
I’m happy with the turn out! I hope you like ’em! They would be fun for a Galentine’s Night Out or a fun event! Head over to my Instagram to see more Valentine’s Day stuff and I will be posting more V-Day looks… my Valentine’s Day look is FIYA!
