When it comes to fashion fall is my all-time favorite! Layering, boots, coats, sweaters &leather are make outfit creation fun. The September issue of fashion magazines are thicker full of all the new trends that we’re supposed to adorn to be stylish in the upcoming season.  I admit it, I’m a trend girl.  I love finding out what the fashion world is loving and seeing if I can adapt it into my personal style.  This season, as with all others, there is a plethora of trends to loved. I am sharing five trends that I want to add to my fall wardrobe.  Over the season I will share my take on these trends and how I wear them to fit my personal style.  All of the trends can be shopped for $100 or less!

2017 FALL TRENDS

When it comes to trends, they’re never “new” they’re just reimagined and sometimes recycled.  Velvet this season is most exciting in slinkier dress silhouettes, jewel-tone colors paired with vintage patterns that mimic your grandmas couch.  As with any trend, follow the “rule of twos” for example if you do a velvet top and matching pants or skirt try adding another type of shoe besides velvet. Anymore pieces would be overkill.  Shop a few items from the trend:

2017 FALL TRENDS FUN FURS

SHOP THE TREND

A nice break from a traditional overcoat this season is a fun faux coat in a bright color or bold pattern.  If you’re not sure a faux fur coat is your taste, try a colorful furry piece in smaller doses to add color, texture and interest to your fall outerwear. Personally, I cannot wait to get my beautiful faux fur coat in a bold color! How will you try the trend? Here are a few pieces to get you started:

2017 Fall Trend Chinoiserie

SHOP THE TREND

Chinoiserie is a style as in decoration reflecting Chinese qualities or motifs. Gucci killed this trend beautifully. Everything that came down the FW17 runway was a hit! It was ornate, rich, and an instant heirloom.  The key to pulling off this trend is to do it in small doses. While I believe in the rule of twos, try not to go too overt when wearing pieces.  Spread them out and pair them with items that help the trend for example.  Pair dark florals, embroidered pieces, gold tone hardware to pull off a complete look without adding too many trend right next to each other.  I added a few chinoiserie pieces with my suit in the previous post. I added ornate and vintage pins, dark floral shoes and a Gucci inspired tote. Shop a few items I think that will add interest to any fall trend this season:

2017 FALL TREND 70'S DISCO

Studio 54, gold lame , sequins and metallic are here this fall and I am dancing in the streets! If you’ve been reading my blog you know I love sequins for the daytime… or anytime so this trend is one of my favorites. I cannot wait to find slinky sequins and metallic dresses for the holiday parties.  A rare find are rose gold metallics.  Rose gold metallic dresses are probably going to be my obsession, and I found one and added it to my list.  I am looking for more!

2017 FALL TREND PUFFER COATSSHOP THE TREND

Puffer coats are available every season, but this season we’re seeing a lot of variations from cropped to cape-lets the selection is wider than usual.  The puffer coat can be found in maxi overcoats that can be paired with your dressier looks. Try a fun puffer coat in an unexpected way this season, try it as a dress coat with a belt for interest.
